Chartered Accountant
A newly qualified CA or CA finalist with two to three years of experience, to plan and run audits and lead tax planning, compliance, advisory and transfer pricing work.
02About the role
We are looking for a Chartered Accountant to take charge of engagements across audit and tax, working closely with the partners and directly with clients. The role covers audit planning and execution from risk assessment to the final report, and the full breadth of tax: planning, compliance, advisory on business decisions and transactions, and transfer pricing and international taxation. A newly qualified CA, or a CA finalist with two to three years of experience, would fit well.
03What you will do
Audit planning and execution
Develop comprehensive audit plans, including risk assessments and audit objectives. Assign audit tasks to the team with proper resource allocation, and oversee substantive testing, controls testing and data analysis, ensuring audits comply with the relevant standards and regulations.
Tax planning and compliance
Develop and execute tax strategies that minimise the organisation's tax liability while ensuring compliance with tax laws. Prepare and review income-tax, GST and other applicable returns, and monitor changes in tax law, advising on their impact and the opportunities they create.
Tax advisory and strategy
Provide tax advice to senior management and business units on the implications of business decisions, transactions and investments, and assist in structuring mergers, acquisitions and other transactions for tax efficiency.
Tax compliance and reporting
Ensure accurate and timely filing of all required tax returns and documentation, maintain records for audit and compliance purposes, and work with external auditors and tax authorities during audits and enquiries.
Transfer pricing and international taxation
Manage transfer pricing policies and documentation for international transactions, and advise on cross-border tax matters including double taxation treaties and transfer pricing adjustments.
04What we look for
Qualification
Newly qualified Chartered Accountant, or a CA finalist with two to three years of relevant experience.
Experience
Hands-on audit and tax work in a practising firm, with exposure to planning, execution and client communication.
Skills
Sound knowledge of accounting standards, the Income-tax Act, GST and the Companies Act, and the ability to lead a small team on an engagement.
Location
Based in Bengaluru and available for in-person work at the BTM Layout office.
05What we offer
Audit, tax and advisory under one roof
Assignments rotate across the practice, so you build a rounded skill set rather than a narrow one.
Direct partner exposure
You work alongside partners with decades in the profession, including a former President of the ICAI.
A path to leadership
The firm's advisory practice is led by a partner who trained here. We promote from within.
A workplace that respects your time
Largely paperless, well organised, and a culture that makes room for life outside work.
